Opera Tampa’s 2013 season is now the



Presented by Opera Tampa and serving as the company’s 18th season, the festival will have an international flair and will be an exciting, vibrant time filled with grand opera, beautiful music and an assortment of fun-filled events to delight both opera aficionados and opera newcomers.

Season tickets for the main stage productions are now on sale, beginning at just $127.32 each. Season ticket holders save 15% off ticket prices for all additional festival events and are assured of getting the best seats. Single tickets for all events go on sale Nov. 12.

“I am so excited to bring so many wonderful events together under the Florida Opera Festival umbrella,” Lisi said. “This festival format allows us to really delve into a wide range of opera-centric events – there truly is something for everyone. I’m hopeful that this winter months festival will draw opera-loving audiences from far and wide to the fun and sun of the Tampa Bay area.”

Newly appointed Artistic Director and Conductor Daniel Lipton – who has led opera companies and orchestras in Germany, Canada, Columbia, Switzerland and Italy, among others – promises to bring his international sensibility and years of worldwide experience to the Florida Opera Festival. Lipton plans to gather singers, directors and others, whose resumes boast acclaimed performances on the world’s leading operatic stages. It is sure to be an artistic event “con brio.”

In addition to the previously announced main stage productions, the Florida Opera Festival will be filled out by a number of ancillary events.

Straz Center members and Opera Tampa League members are given first priority for new season tickets. Current season ticket holders will receive renewal information soon and those renewals will be handled before new subscriptions are processed. Single tickets go on sale Nov. 12.
