GIACOMO PUCCINI'S
LA BOHÈME
Nov. 16 and 18, 2007
Carol Morsani Hall
Our opera season gets off to a glorious start with the first of two Puccini operas in celebration of the great composer’s 150th birthday. In La Bohème, four inseparable Bohemians — a poet, a painter, a musician and a philosopher — lead precarious lives, scrounging for meals and trying to keep warm in the Parisian garret. The poet, Rodolfo, falls for Mimi, a lovely but sickly seamstress, and they pledge their love through some of the most beautiful and best-known arias in all of opera. The tale will touch your heart. The music will touch your soul. Anton Coppola conducts an international cast, plus the Opera Tampa Chorus and Orchestra.
